Breastfest 2012

This nonprofit organization is now in four cities. In Athens, it's 30 dollars that almost all goes directly into the pockets of local hospital programs and a community-wide free mammogram day later in the year. Props to Athens restaurants like Amici's and Barberito's for serving up lots of good food for free, and to Terrapin for hosting. Also, Anderson Farms from Madison roasted an entire pig in a wooden box. It was a boozy day in the sun filled with food, music, and men walking around in pink shirts. Seriously, this event needs to be publicized even more next year.

My mom died ten years ago this past week of breast cancer, so I thought it appropriate that yesterday was not only time and money well spent for a cause but also one of the best days I've ever had with girlfriends. I'm not even going to lie. By 2am we'd fallen into a state of pure absurdity.
